Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
. 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
. 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
. 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
. 2 large eggs
. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
. 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
. 1 teaspoon baking soda
. ½ teaspoon baking powder
. 1 teaspoon salt
. 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
3. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
4. Add chocolate chips: Stir in the chocolate chips.
5. Shape and bake: Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
