Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Glaze: A Deliciously Simple Side Dish:
Roasted Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze are a delightful dish that transforms the humble vegetable into a gourmet treat. This recipe combines the nutty, slightly sweet flavor of caramelized Brussels sprouts with the tangy sweetness of balsamic glaze, creating a dish that’s both healthy and delicious.
Ingredients:
. 1 ½ lbs (680g) Brussels sprouts,
trimmed and halved
. 3 tablespoons olive oil
. Salt and pepper, to taste
. ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
. 2 tablespoons honey
. ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Prepare the Brussels sprouts: In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
3. Roast the Brussels sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 20-25 minutes, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
4. Make the balsamic glaze: While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the mixture is reduced by half and slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Finish and serve: Drizzle the roasted Brussels sprouts with the balsamic glaze and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
